The video is about the history of Canaan settlers who occupied the land. The idea is that any kingdom able to conquer the land has the right to occupy it. If they are subdued by a stronger kingdom then they have no choice but to give the rights of ownership. It is uncertain who really the first occupants of the land are. But even if we know who the first settler is, there is no guarantee that the land is forever deem to that group of people or kingdom. Because the land can be taken anytime by another who is much stronger. In the Bible, we know that God owns everything. He is the Supreme Being who can defend the people of Israel. He is Israel’s ultimate King. Therefore He has all the right which land of the world to give. He has instructed Israel to conquer the land of Canaan for this is his promise land to them. All Israel have to do is obey his command. Unlike in the video, their form of ownership is that whoever has the stronger army – that kingdom wins. But to God, He dictates to the leader of Israel what land to conquer. If they obey God will help them. Another difference is that in the video there is no guarantee for a nation to own the land for a long time until the next generation. In the Bible, somehow the Israel is still in the land of occupancy –Canaan. Also, Kingdom is dependent in their economy and in the might of the army together with the allies. But to the Israelites it is God who protects them. If they are obedient they are punished to either division of land or exile. If they are obedient to God the land prospers and occupies adjacent lands.
